This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your personal data. By using our Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly. When you submit our contact form, we collect the following personal information:

• Message content

This information is submitted voluntarily and is used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain usage data through analytics tools, including:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Referring website or source
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Approximate geographic location (city/region level, not precise)
• IP address

This data is collected through Google Analytics and Clicky, our third-party analytics providers, and is used in aggregate to understand how visitors use our Site.

Analytics data is retained in accordance with the default retention settings of our analytics providers.

Our Site and services are not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

11. Markdown Reader and Markdown Pro

Update checks. Markdown Reader and Markdown Pro check www.sortedsolution.com for updates once a day, and when you choose Check for Updates…. Each check sends the app version, the edition (free or Pro) and your operating system version (on Linux, the distribution name and version, such as ubuntu-24.04). It doesn't include your name, an account, a device identifier or anything about your documents. Like any web request, it reaches our server from your internet address. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings ▸ General (Mac), File ▸ Options ▸ General (Windows) or File ▸ Settings ▸ General (Linux).

Markdown Pro licenses. Markdown Pro is sold through our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which processes your payment and issues your license key under its own privacy policy; we don't receive your card details. When you enter a license key, the app sends the key and a name for your computer (as your computer reports it, for example "Office iMac (Mac)") to Lemon Squeezy's license service, so you can see and manage your devices and the 5-device limit can apply. After that, the app re-checks the key with that service about once a day while it's in use, sending the key and the activation's identifier. Removing a license from a computer tells the service to free that device. The 14-day trial doesn't contact anyone.

Your documents. Documents, templates, settings and your logo stay on your computer; the apps don't upload them anywhere. There's no account, no analytics and no crash reporting.

Who wrote what. Markdown Pro's record of who wrote each line of a document is kept on your computer, in a .markdown-reader folder next to the document, and is never sent to us or anyone else. It contains your name as your computer account shows it, the names of AI agents that edited the document and the times of changes — not your text. It goes wherever the folder goes, so if you share, sync or commit the folder, others can read it.

AI agents and the terminal. Programs you start in Markdown Pro's built-in terminal, including AI coding agents such as Claude Code, are separate products with their own terms and privacy policies. Markdown Reader doesn't record or send what you type in the terminal and doesn't contact any agent or its maker.

12. Space Scout

Space Scout runs entirely on your computer. It reads the names, sizes and dates of the files in the folder you scan and keeps them in memory while the app is open; it writes nothing to disk except the items you choose to move to the Trash or Recycle Bin. It has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no update check, and it never opens a network connection. Online-only files in cloud folders are reported as such and are not downloaded.
